Carriage Mounted Spreader Bars - As the name implies, this mast consists of 3 parts. The outside section mounts securely to the lift truck. The next intermediate section telescopes inside of the outside part. The inmost part telescopes in the middle section. The inner part and the middle section both elevate as the lift cylinders lengthen. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides within the internal part. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height as opposed to the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas like for example doorways where overhead clearances are restricted. This mast is normally outfitted with a center cylinder in order to let the fork carriage raise some distance before the mast parts commence extension.
There are two main sections in a 2 Stage Mast. The external section of the mast is connected to the lift vehicle. The internal section sits in the external part and raises when the cylinders extend. The fork carriage is actually positioned inside the inner part. This mast type has a taller lowered height compared to an equivalent 3 stage mast or lift height quad mast.
